Project overview

Myfood is a permaculture-driven AgTech company on a mission to make fresh, sustainably grown food something almost anyone can produce, even in a small urban footprint – using smart greenhouses that pair thoughtful design with IoT sensors to cut water use and carbon. Intobi partnered with Myfood to modernize its aging ASP.NET MVC greenhouse management app and build a new corporate portal, My Food Hub: one connected platform that makes sustainable urban farming accessible, measurable, and easy to run day to day.

Challenges

  • Legacy system limitations — the existing ASP.NET MVC platform was difficult to maintain, lacked scalability, and did not support modern IoT data flows efficiently.
  • Data-driven insights — greenhouse operators required real-time visibility into environmental metrics, plant growth, and production analytics.
  • User engagement & usability — private users and corporate clients needed an intuitive interface to control, monitor, and optimize their greenhouses.
  • Scalability & integration — the system had to support multiple greenhouse types, sensors, and locations while allowing future expansion.
  • Sustainable tech focus — ensure the software supports energy-efficient operations and minimizes environmental impact.

Key features

Modernized greenhouse management

Intobi rewrote the legacy application using C#/.NET Core for the backend and Angular + TypeScript for the frontend. The new architecture supports fast data processing from multiple IoT sensors, real-time alerts, and responsive dashboards for greenhouse monitoring.

My Food Hub — corporate portal

A centralized web portal allows administrators to view statistics, manage greenhouse devices, and optimize production schedules. Interactive dashboards display environmental metrics, plant growth data, and yield projections.

IoT integration

The platform seamlessly connects with smart greenhouse sensors that measure temperature, humidity, light, and soil conditions. Automated alerts notify users of anomalies or maintenance needs, reducing manual oversight and ensuring optimal plant growth.

User experience design

Intobi developed an intuitive interface that works across devices, making greenhouse monitoring and control easy for private users and corporate clients. Clear visualizations of sensor data, production statistics, and trend analysis allow users to make informed decisions.

Scalable architecture

The backend supports multiple greenhouses and sensor types, ensuring the system can expand to accommodate future product lines and geographic locations. APIs were designed for interoperability with third-party services, enabling data export.

Results

The modernized platform delivered gains across production, decisions, and operations — with a responsive UX and a modular architecture ready for new greenhouses, sensors, and features.
